COVID-19 Update 1 May 2021

COVID-19 Update 1 May 2021

  • Total: 2,888 confirmed cases in Salem
  • Salem today: new cases since yesterday
  • 48 active cases
  • 1 out of every 10 Salem residents has been infected
  • Salem’s new cases per 100K for 14 days: 264
  • Salem’s Positivity Rate for the past 2 weeks: 5.8%

Reportedly, DHHS announced that they were going to cut down on the information about infections, and that they were going to concentrate on vaccinations.

There is no reason to do this; they still have that data, and their computer system does the breakdown. I’m frustrated at this lack of transparency, as it eliminates some checks and balances – which are greatly needed.

And, if they are concentrating on vaccination reports, why wasn’t the vaccination dashboard updated today???

On Saturday, May 1, 2021, DHHS announced 293 new positive test results for COVID-19. Today’s results include 173 people who tested positive by PCR test and 120 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 2,459 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire.

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates.
