COVID-19 Update 10 April 2021

  • Total: 2,735 confirmed cases in Salem
  • Salem today: 9 new cases
  • 73 active cases 
  • 1 out of every 11 Salem residents has been infected
  • Salem’s new cases per 100K for 14 days: 412
  • Salem’s Positivity Rate for the past 2 weeks: 7.0%

On Saturday, April 10, 2021, DHHS announced 471 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a current PCR test positivity rate of 3.6%. Today’s results include 300 people who tested positive by PCR test and 171 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 3,689 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today: 

  • 4/9: 471 new cases 

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates.

  • Salem added 9 new cases in the past two days, bringing our total to 2,735 Salem residents who have had confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • Salem’s active cases has decreased by 1 since yesterday to 73. Salem had 83 active cases one week ago. 
  • Salem’s new cases per 100K residents is 412. Yesterday, it was 429. One week ago, it was 480.
  • Salem’s positivity rate for PCR & antigen results in the past week is 7.0%, a “moderate” level of community transmission. Yesterday it was 6.2%. One week ago, it was 6.4%. 
  • DHHS reported 552 new cases today, the most since January 29.
  • Today the new cases “by math” (yesterday vs. today’s cumulative total of positive cases as reported by DHHS) were 468. NH reported 473 people have “recovered” since yesterday’s update. After allowing for those who lost their lives today because of COVID-19, NH’s number of active cases went down by 8 to 3,689 since yesterday. That’s 42 fewer active cases than we had a week ago.
  • We haven’t had this many active cases since February 6. We were down to 1, 997 on March 9. NH’s peak was 6,994 active cases on December 27.
  • NH has had 420.7 new cases per 100K residents in the past 14 days. Yesterday, it was 414.5. One week ago, it was 369.5.
  • NH’s positivity rate for PCR & antigen results in the past week is 5.3%. Yesterday it was 5.2%. One week ago, it was 4.8%.
  • NH’s positivity rate for PCR results returned today is 3.0%, which is “moderate” community transmission. Yesterday it was 5.2%. A week ago, it was 4.9%.
  • DHHS is reporting a total of 1,257 people who have been hospitalized as of today because of COVID-19.  This is an increase of 6 since yesterday’s update, and an increase of 25 since last week. There were 3 new hospitalizations today from Rockingham County, bringing our county’s total to 287
  • The number of patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19 is 110 which is 10 more than yesterday, and 23 more than a week ago. 
  • The cumulative total of ICU admissions did not change since yesterday, leaving the total at 377. We have seen an increase of 4 ICU admissions in the past seven days. 
  • Today NH DHHS reported that there were 3 lives lost for the period covered by this report, bringing the total to 1,256 people who have died in NH due to COVID-19. We have lost 7 people in NH due to COVID-19 in the past week. Today’s numbers include 1 person who died from Rockingham County, bringing our total to 233 lives lost in our county.

DHHS reports that the new cases reside in the following counties: 
Rockingham (115), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (68), Strafford (58), Grafton (49), Belknap (26), Merrimack (25), Cheshire (15), Sullivan (10), Carroll (9), and Coos (8) counties, and in the cities of Nashua (38) and Manchester (28). The county of residence is being determined for twenty- two new cases.
