DHHS strikes again! Most of the dashboards were not update again, so we have a lot of gaps in our data. Again.

On Sunday, April 25, 2021, DHHS announced 284 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a current PCR test positivity rate of 2.7%. Today’s results include 168 people who tested positive by PCR test and 116 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 2,960 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today:

  • 4/24: 284 new cases

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates.

• • • • • • TODAY’S SUMMARY • • • • • •

  • There was no town information posted today, so we have no update for any of Salem’s numbers.
  • Today the new cases “by math” (yesterday vs. today’s cumulative total of positive cases as reported by DHHS) were 114. NH reported 355 people have “recovered” since yesterday’s update. After allowing for those who lost their lives today because of COVID-19, NH’s number of active cases went down by 243 to 2,717 since yesterday. That’s 442 fewer active cases than we had a week ago.
  • NH’s positivity rate for PCR results returned today is 7.3% which is “moderate” community transmission. Yesterday it was 2.7%. A week ago, it was 2.4%.
  • DHHS reported a total of 1,299 people who had been hospitalized as of yesterday because of COVID-19.  Today’s number is not available, nor is updated information about ICU admissions.
  • The number of patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19 is 86 which is a decrease of 5 since yesterday, and is 43 less than a week ago.
  • There were 2 lives lost due to COVID-19 for the period covered by this report, bringing the total to 1,286 people who have died in NH due to COVID-19.

• • • • • • Communities • • • • • •

DHHS reports that the new cases reside in the following counties:
Strafford (29), Rockingham (27), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (17), Merrimack (13), Belknap (7), Cheshire (6), Grafton (6), Carroll (3), Coos (2), and Sullivan (1) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (16) and Nashua (5). The county of residence is being determined for six new cases.

It’s a rare day when Rockingham County isn’t at the top of this list, but with the low number of results, it’s not surprising that the list is shaken up a little.
