COVID-19 Update August 10

  • Total: 288 confirmed cases
  • 1 out of every 103 Salem residents has been infected.
  • Salem Today: 0 new cases, 14 active cases.

 

• • • TODAY’S SPOTLIGHT• • • • • •

  • There were only 13 new cases reported in New Hampshire today, but after adjustments from NH DHHS, when comparing yesterday to today, there are only 9 new cases.
  • Since there were no new cases in Rockingham County, there were none in Salem. This is the first time since July 27 with no new infections reported in our County.
  • There were 1,693 test results reported today, with a positivity rate of 0.53%. There is only one other day in the past month and a half that the positivity rate has been this low.
  • Hampton passed 50 cases yesterday.
  • For every 103 people in Salem, one has been confirmed to be infected since this virus started.
  • For every 183 people in Rockingham County, one has tested positive.
  • For every 199 people in New Hampshire, one has been diagnosed with COVID-19
  • We have been breaking a lot of records lately. Today, with Manchester dropping down to 49 active cases, there are no communities in NH with more than 50 active cases.
  • After Manchester, Nashua, with 33 total active cases, is second, followed by Derry with 17, Salem with 14, Londonderry with 11, and Bedford with 10. The other communities with more than 50 cumulative cases now have less than 10 active cases.
  • Happily, we have another day without any loss of life in NH from COVID-19.

These are not simply numbers. We must not forget that these are all someone’s husband or wife, mother or father, sister or brother, son or daughter, friend or neighbor.

Facts are facts, and these are the facts. If we can keep the numbers heading in the same direction as they are now, it is possible that NH could have no cases by the end of the month. Wouldn’t that be awesome?! Let’s try! We can start by doing everything we can do to stay safe, and always, be kind.
