These are not simply numbers. We must not forget that these are all someone’s husband or wife, mother or father, sister or brother, son or daughter, friend or neighbor.

That’s right,’ she told the girls. ‘You are bored. And I’m going to let you in on a little secret about life. You think it’s boring now? Well, it only gets more boring. The sooner you learn it’s on you to make life interesting, the better off you’ll be.”

― Maria Semple, Where’d You Go, Bernadette?

Hello, Salem!

Feeling bored? Staying home, following the guidelines can do that to you. But it sure beats the alternatives.

Reading these numbers are boring. There doesn’t feel like there has been a huge change in our numbers for a while, although the number of active cases is going down a little. The numbers seem to go up one day, and down the next, which is why averages are so important. I suspect many people are getting numb with such high numbers over and over.  There isn’t much I can do to make these dry statistics less boring.

What are you doing to keep your life interesting?

Stay safe, and always, be kind.

~Bonnie

The following video was posted almost two months ago. Things have changed in that time. On October 2, US deaths were 1,035,451, according to the video. (My records say 1,033,174 per WorldOmeter.) WorldOMeter now says the global death rate is 1,446,889, an increase of 413,715 in less than two months. Just please remember that there is a lot more between COVID->Death vs. COVID->Recovery. More and more, long-haulers are making the news, as are other consequences of COVID-19.

  1. Good morning Bonnie,
The new master theater show, All Creature Big and Small is delightful on Sunday nights. The Kelly sent a list of books that are available. I ordered anew Fanny Flag book. I am taking a positivity class.

    1. Hi, Connie,

I remember an old TV series, “All Creatures Big and Small,” based on the books by James Herriot. I loved the books, and loved the series. I didn’t know that it had been revised. I will look for it! Thanks for the suggestion!!!

And, I could use a positivity class. Is it too late to join?
