COVID-19 Update October 1

  • Total: 331 confirmed cases in Salem
  • 1 out of every 89 Salem residents have been infected
  • Salem Today: 4 new cases, 7 active cases

  • We had no new cases in Salem for two days, but we made up for it with four more Salem residents being confirmed today.
  • There were 52 new people diagnosed with COVID-19 in the State today, but the cumulative total went up by only 51. The daily average for the past week is 39 new cases per day.
  • The community with the biggest increase in total cases today is Manchester, with 9 more people with infections. Nashua has 5 new people. Other municipalities with more increases include Salem and Merrimack, both of which had four new cases.
  • There is no significant change in the school dashboard. 
  • Today, NH DHHS reported in their press release that 2 more kids under 18 were infected. Changes in the dashboard from yesterday to today, by ages:
    • 0-9: 2 new
    • 10-19: 1
    • 20-29: 9
    • 30-39: 7
    • 40-49: 9
    • 50-59: 11
    • 60-69: 8
    • 70-79: 3
    • 80+: 1
  • 16 communities have more than five active cases. 
  • The positivity rate is 2.4%.
  • No Granite State resident was hospitalized with COVID-19, but the number of patients went from 14 to 15.
  • Two more people died in NH in the 24-hours covered by this update. They both were living in a long-term care facility.
  • DHHS has announced two new outbreaks at long-term care facilities: Bedford Hills Center and Warde Health Center in Windham.
