  • Total: 349 confirmed cases in Salem
  • 1 out of every 85 Salem residents have been infected

Community Transmission (per NH Department of Health and Human Services)

The overall level of community transmission is defined using three metrics.  A community is then assigned an overall level based on the highest-level determination for any specific metric.  

  • Community Transmission Metrics:
    • New Cases per 100k over 14 days
      • Scale: Minimal: <50; Moderate: 50 – 100; Substantial: >100. 
      • Today: 873 cases; Daily average: 64.4 (Moderate)
    • New hospitalizations per 100k over 14 days:
      • Scale: Minimal: <10; Moderate: 10 – 20; Substantial: >20, 
      • Today: Total hospitalizations: 15 total; Daily average: 1.1
    • Average PCR Test Positivity Rate over 7 days:
      • Scale: Minimal: <5%; Moderate: 5% – 10%; Substantial: >10%

  • One more person from Salem has been diagnosed with a COVID-19 infection. The daily average for Salem residents over the past 10 days is 2.2 people per day.
  • Communities:
    • The biggest change in active cases is Nashua, which went down by13.
    • Notable changes in active cases: 
      • Belmont, Hollis, Lebanon, Lee, and Rye all had less than 5 active cases yesterday, and have more than 5 today.
      • Milford and Pelham had more than 5 active cases yesterday, but have less than 5 today.
    • Some of the communities with significant increases in cumulative cases: Manchester (7). Nashua (4)
  • NH has had four new people hospitalized with COVID-19 in the last two days. However, in that same timeframe, the number of current hospitalizations has risen from 13 to 22, indicating a number of re-admissions.
  • NH has lost people every day for the past 8 days, including one more fatality today. The daily average for the past week remains at 1.86 people dying per day.
