• • • • • • Report from NH Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) • • • • • •

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, DHHS announced 244 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a current PCR test positivity rate of 1.3%. Today’s results include 153 people who tested positive by PCR test and 91 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 2,215 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today:

  • 3/2: 244 new cases

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates.

• • • • • • TODAY’S SPOTLIGHT • • • • • •

  • DHHS reported 320 fewer persons tested today (629,045) than yesterday (629,365). There was a similar situation two days ago, with 563 fewer people, for a total of 883 people removed from this number in these two days.
    • Some of the calculations I make are based on this number, so some of the numbers today are odd, especially total tests today, new negatives and total negatives.
  • Three must be the magic number for Salem. Yesterday there were three new cases for three days in a row. The trend continues, with another three new cases.
  • Salem’s active cases went up by two yesterday. Today they are down by 9. We are now back to the level we were on November 5.
  • 241 NH people were reported as “recovered” since yesterday’s update. This is slightly less than the 187 new cases “by math” (yesterday vs today’s cumulative total of positive cases as reported by DHHS). After allowing for those who lost their lives today because of COVID-19, NH’s number of active cases went down by another 59 to 2,215. This is the lowest since November 10.
  • There were four new people hospitalized today, bringing the number of patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19 to 89, an increase of one.
  • NH’s cumulative ICU admissions increased again in the period covered by this report, bringing the total number of people admitted to the ICU to 347.
  • We had three days in a row with no COVID-19 deaths, but unfortunately, we lost five people in the 24-hours covered by this report, including one person from Rockingham County.

• • • • • • Communities • • • • • •

  • NH DHHS reports that the new cases reside in Rockingham (57), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (39), Merrimack (29), Strafford (28), Grafton (16), Carroll (13), Cheshire (12), Coos (2), Sullivan (2), and Belknap (1) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (29) and Nashua (5). The county of residence is being determined for eleven new cases.

NH Communities with more than 50 cumulative cases.

The following video was posted almost two months ago. Things have changed in that time. On October 2, US deaths were 1,035,451, according to the video. (My records say 1,033,174 per WorldOmeter.) WorldOMeter now says the global death rate is 1,446,889, an increase of 413,715 in less than two months. Just please remember that there is a lot more between COVID->Death vs. COVID->Recovery. More and more, long-haulers are making the news, as are other consequences of COVID-19.
