• • • • • • TODAY’S SPOTLIGHT • • • • • •
- Salem ratio has dropped to 1 out of every 12 residents have had confirmed cases of COVID-19. This could also be reported as 8.01%.
- By comparison, Rockingham County is 1 out of 17, and NH is 1 out of 18.
- Salem’s positivity rate for PCR and Antigen test results over the past week is 5.2%, up 0.2% from yesterday. Rockingham County is higher (5.8%). NH’s PCR/Antigen positivity rate for one week is 3.9%. NH’s positivity rate for just PCR test results returned today is 2.3%.
- Salem’s new cases have increased by 7 since yesterday, and by 39 in the past week.
- Here was no change in the number of Salem’s active cases since yesterday. This count has gone down by 32 people in the past week.
- 209 NH people were reported as “recovered” since yesterday’s update. This is slightly less than the 188 new cases “by math” (yesterday vs today’s cumulative total of positive cases as reported by DHHS). After allowing for those who lost their lives today because of COVID-19, NH’s number of active cases went down by another 24 to 2,191. This is the lowest since November 9.
- There were four new people hospitalized today, including a child under the age of 10, and someone in their 20’s; the others were over 70.
- These new hospital patients bring the number of patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19 to 92, an increase of three.
- NH’s cumulative ICU admissions increased by another one during the period covered by this report, bringing the total number of people admitted to the ICU to 348.
- Three more people died from COVID-19 in the period covered by this report.
- NH DHHS reports that there are only six institutions with active COVID-19 outbreaks, four nursing homes and two prisons. If I am counting right, there are 104 closed institutional outbreaks. Some facilities have had more than one outbreak. There has been a total of four outbreaks in Salem, in 3 facilities.
- 21 COVID-19 deaths over the past year are associated with these three facilities in Salem.

The county of residence is being determined for nine new cases.

Hello, Salem!
Don’t allow yourself to become careless. Please stay safe, and always, be kind.

The following video was posted almost two months ago. Things have changed in that time. On October 2, US deaths were 1,035,451, according to the video. (My records say 1,033,174 per WorldOmeter.) WorldOMeter now says the global death rate is 1,446,889, an increase of 413,715 in less than two months. Just please remember that there is a lot more between COVID->Death vs. COVID->Recovery. More and more, long-haulers are making the news, as are other consequences of COVID-19.
