COVID-19 Update October 7

  • Total: 344 confirmed cases in Salem
  • 1 out of every 86 Salem residents have been infected

  • Today, I am beyond frustrated. WHAT IS GOING ON AT NH DHHS???
    • This is the third day in a row that they have screwed up.
    • Active Cases Dashboard – Not updated (County info)
    • Cumulative Cases Dashboard – Not updated (County info)
    • Case Summary Dashboard – Not updated (age demographics)
    • The Woodbury (Middle) School in Salem is still showing as having one infection, but the Peter Woodbury (Elementary) School in Bedford is still showing as having no infections.
  • DHHS did update some things:
    • The Interactive Analytics is updated, so we do have the school info.
    • The Active and Cumulative Cases Maps were updated, so we have the town info.
  • Salem has two more new residents with confirmed infections. 
  • Salem has had 17 new cases in the last week. We only had four people infected, near the end of the previous week.
  • Communities
    • In their Press Release, DHHS said Manchester added 22 new cases today. Per the map, Manchester added 14 cases to their cumulative total, and its active cases went down by 6.
    • Nashua was down to 3 active cases on September 8. Today they have 80. (Yesterday they had 84, which I incorrectly reported as 8.) They have 10 more total cases today, bringing them to over 1,000.
    • Some of the other communities with significant increases in cumulative cases: Bedford (+5), Goffstown and Hampton (+3), Salem and Windham (+2)
    • Communities with significant increases in active cases: Bedford (+4, bringing them to 50); Windham (+4); Goffstown (+3); Hampton (+2)
  • Today, two people were hospitalized with COVID-19, the first time since September 29. There are 18 people still hospitalized.
  • Two more people have died from COVID-19.  We have lost six people in the last four days.
  • 72 schools (+1 from yesterday) have had kids infected at a school function since August 1. Currently there are 39 schools (-3) with at least one student with an active infection, for a total of 76 kids (-16)
