  • I like reporting most of today’s numbers: No new infections in Salem, 4 less active cases, no NH hospitalizations, and no NH deaths.
  • NH DHHS has reported 33 new cases today, with a cumulative total of 29 new cases, after adjusting for errors in previous days’ reports. A third (11) of the new cases came from Manchester.
  • The positivity rate today was 1.77%.
  • The only numbers I don’t like are the kids. NH DHHS reported in their press report that three kids under the age of 18 had new infections. On the dashboard, they show two children aged 0-9, and seventeen kids aged 10-19.
  • The State’s COVID dashboard was updated not too long ago to include schools. They list 15 schools, of which 4 no longer have active cases. UNH has 41 active cases, and several other NH colleges or universities have a few active cases.

These are not simply numbers. We must not forget that these are all someone’s husband or wife, mother or father, sister or brother, son or daughter, friend or neighbor.

Happy Labor Day! What wonderful weather! And, after a couple of days with concerning numbers, it’s nice to have numbers like we have today, too.

Tomorrow is the primary election day. Don’t forget to vote! I have several friends in contested primaries; I wish them the best of luck. Stay safe, and always, be kind.
