  • Total: 309 confirmed cases in Salem
  • 1 out of every 96 Salem residents has been infected
  • Salem Today: 1 new case, 8 active cases

  • Salem has another new case today.
  • Salem has averaged 1.17 new infections per day for the past week.
  • It almost is beginning to feel as though yesterday, with zero new cases in Salem, could be the exception, and not the rule. I’m hoping not.
  • 206 new cases were announced in NH from September 2 to September 8. 21 of hose people were announced today.
  • Only 664 test results were returned today. With a small base, there is likely to be a bigger percentage of all tests coming back as positive. The positivity rate today was 2.71%.
  • Of the towns I look at every day, only one had more than one new case. Windham has NINE new cases.
  • A global total of more than 900,000 people have died from COVID-19.

These are not simply numbers. We must not forget that these are all someone’s husband or wife, mother or father, sister or brother, son or daughter, friend or neighbor.

It has been a very long day. I wonder if my face will reflect that I was wearing a mask outside for 12 hours today? This could create an interesting tan line! However, it is worth it as I try to stay safe, and always, be kind.
