Hello, Salem!
Our numbers are increasing daily. The more cases we have, the more opportunity we have of developing new variants which could be worse than the ones that have currently been identified.
In the Governor’s press conference today, the DHHS team that reports to him shared that there have been 1700 tests run to look for variants, but only 100 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant which started in the United Kingdom have been detected here in NH.
Nationally there is concern about a 4th wave. NH didn’t really experience the 2nd wave. Here’s hoping we can avoid this one, too, but the trends I’m seeing are concerning, and if the B.1.1.7 picks up, as is predicted, I am concerned that we could be in trouble.
Please! Stay safe, and always, be kind.
~Bonnie
