Hello, Salem!

Today NH’s Governor announced that he is lifting the mandate for wearing masks in public places. (Businesses are still allowed to make their own rules). Some are celebrating. But is it the right time?

I, for one, will continue to wear a mask when I’m in public, even though I’m fully vaccinated. Here’s why:

In addition, the CDC reports that NH has had 206 confirmed cases of the B.1.17 variant that originated in the United Kingdom, and 6 people have been diagnosed with the P.1 variant that originated in Brazil. Our neighbor, Massachusetts, has had 1,100 confirmed cases of the B.1.1.7 variant, 102 people diagnosed with the P.1 variant, and 12 cases of the B.1.351 variant which came from South Africa.)

If anything, we should be acting more carefully. Please be smart. Watch out for COVID-fatigue. Stay safe, and always, be kind.

~Bonnie
